San Jose Earthquakes transfer Emi Ochoa to Cruz Azul
TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Transfer The San Jose Earthquakes have transferred homegrown goalkeeper Emi Ochoa to LIGA MX side Cruz Azul, the club announced Friday.
How He Joined The Club: Signed as San Jose’s youngest Homegrown Player (14 years and 191 days) on Nov. 11, 2019. Ochoa is the second youngest player to ever sign a professional contract in Major League Soccer (Freddy Adu – 14 years, 168 days) and is the youngest to sign a Homegrown Player contract.
Quakes Academy: Ochoa is the eighth product of the Quakes Academy to sign with the first team. He joined the Quakes Academy after playing in the Santa Cruz Breakers Academy and his hometown club El Camino FC. He currently competes for San Jose’s U-15 squad.
International: Has participated in the U.S. Youth National Team system, competing at the U-14 and U-15 levels.
